Young Creative Talent & Experienced Hands

Young Creative Talent
Last year, we were busy preparing for the delightful Theatre Centre, First Stage (4-7s) show, The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies and Mrs Tittlemouse.

For the presentation we requested the making of a delightful cake - sadly not edible but certainly looking good enough to eat. Here it is,
It was made by Victoria Watson, who worked for Intrepid as a young designer, before leaving to study Illustration and Visual Communication at Westminster Uni.

Victoria also made lots of carrots and lettuce - which of course the flopsy bunnies ate and then feel asleep, exhausted, in Mr McGregor's vegetable patch. Here are some of the made items,
And it doesn't end there. For our Centre Stage (7-11yr olds), we presented the well-loved classic, The Selfish Giant by Oscar Wilde. Allie West's inventive and sensitive adaptation was complimented by Victoria's puppets, as seen here,
I am of course forgetting those lovely bunny ears (not from the The Selfish Giant of course) but from the Flopsy Bunnies.

Intrepid are one of the leading employers and hosts for talented young people in Sussex working in the creative arts.

We take young people for first time paid work opportunities, volunteers and as Interns. They come with enthusiasm and a talent and leave with experience and a new found focus.

If you know a talented young person (16-25 years) with particular skills in creative arts such as needlework, craft work, puppetry and design - then please ask them to contact us. We can provide not just expert mentoring, support and guidance but also lots of opportunities to express their creativity plus bags of materials and equipment. Heaven, for the right person.

Experienced Hands
There is just no replacing experience. We try to give as much of it as possible and our skills set offers most young people the support they need. However, when it comes to creative arts - specifically the craft part of the trade (as it were), we would love to have some local experienced hands that are willing and able to support young talent.

If you have a few hours to offer and are open to bartering - then please do contact us on 01273 476 226 or 07840 166 947 and speak to Richard.
